About DBHM Haulage

Our Story

From the Cattle Stations to the Highway: My Journey

My trucking journey started early. At just 15, working on cattle stations in the Northern Territory, I was responsible for driving the horse truck to mustering camps. Even then, I understood the responsibility; moving livestock and looking after gear meant doing the job properly, with no shortcuts. That’s where my love for trucking began.

I cut my teeth in the Gulf country, driving an old 1980s Kenworth SAR with side and end tippers, hauling rock from rivers to crushing plants. It was tough work involving off-road terrain and steep climbs, but it taught me how to handle heavy machinery in the harshest conditions.

Moving to the city meant starting over. I worked my way up from medium rigids and chip-seal spreaders before returning to semi-trailers in the turf industry. It was here that I honed my skills in city logistics, machinery carting, and transporting oversized loads using drop decks and floats.

My first rig is a 2012 Western Star 4800, and I started this business. Today, we operate across Western and North Queensland, and down to Melbourne, handling everything from construction material, quarry products and general freight.
